TLH-heli-skiing-powderThe crew at Helitracks is excited to hear that TLH Heliskiing will open for the 2010/2011 winter heli-ski season this December 31st, 2010 with a New Years Eve party to celebrate.  The TLH base lodge at Tyax Wilderness Resort has been closed for renovations since the fall of 2009, this will mark the re-opening of the lodge since the renovations began.

The New Years Eve and re-opening celebration will be complete with a gourmet 4 course meal served in the newly renovated and newly furnished dining room, followed by live music, dancing and a midnight champagne toast in the bar.· After a night of celebrating, guests will retreat to their brand new lodge rooms to prepare for the following day’s activities.· Heli-skiing guests will be the first of the season to get out and enjoy TLH’s 830,000 acre powder playground.· Located in the South Coast Range, TLH has been hit hard with recent snow storms bringing copious amounts of dry fluffy powder snow for early season guests to tear into.

Tyax Wilderness Resort has undergone a multi-million dollar renovation over the past year and guests will be able to enjoy the upgraded facilities during their stay.  Chef, Jonathan Carmel, has prepared a gourmet, 4-course meal with a Canadian theme featuring Dungeness crab from BC waters, beef tenderloin from Alberta and a maple syrup accented dessert from Quebec.   The party continues after dinner with live music from local, BC, Folk Rock artist Vince Vaccaro and his band.  After the band’s set the music will carry on into the night.  The legendary Tyax bar will be open throughout the evening and at midnight the champagne will be popped to ring in the New Year.

Spaces are almost fully booked for the New Year celebration as seats are limited in the dining room.  To join the celebration potential guests can contact the TLH Head office at 250-238-2204 or by email at This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it.
