Exploring Kashmir and Skiing the LIne of Control
The mountains are alluring...the danger is looming
For us in Canada, heli skiing has it's risks. Every trip we are reminded of avalanche risk, terrain risk and also learn about respecting the machine we are flying in. But exploring heliskiing in Kashmir has an entirely different risk! There is something called the 'Line of Control' between India and Pakistan. It is littered with artillery with a missile range of 5km and both sides are forbidden to fly in that zone. But you know skiers...where there are powder laced mountains we want to explore...
